Required going back to original drawings and permits, assessing damage and using museum quality repair methods to bring the lighthouse up to what it is today. Ongoing repairs include the lantern room where all of the 1/2 inch thick metal panels need to be replaced.
Restoring the PPLH, largely by volunteer labor, has resulted in one of the best lighthouses to visit on the west coast.
